Fulton County Amater Radio Club

The Fulton County Amateur Radio Club invites local officials and the public to learn about amateur radio and emergency communications during the 2026 American Radio Relay League Field Day event this year.

Local amateur radio operators will set up their radios and antennas at the Richland Restoration Nature Park on Fulton County road 450 North between old U.S. 31 and the U.S. 31 Bypass. They will make radio contacts with other amateur radio operators throughout the United States and Canada.

Amateur radio operators are able to use thousands of frequencies and numerous modes including voice, morse code, video and many new digital modes, to provide emergency communications when regular phone, cellphone, or public safety communications systems go down or become over-loaded during a disaster.

The local event will be in operation from 2pm until 5pm. In the event of bad weather, it will be held at the Fulton County Emergency Management Agency building on State Road 14 East in Rochester, just west of the Rochester Fire Station.
