TVHS celebrates FFA week

Last week was National FFA Week. TVHS kicked off the week on Sunday, February 18, with 21 FFA members attending church, going out for lunch and then going bowling. Other activities during FFA Week included a donut eating contest during lunch on Monday. On Tuesday, FFA members went to Mentone Elementary and Akron Elementary to do presentations about agriculture. Wednesday there was no school. Thursday was the FFA Appreciation Dinner and Worker Auction in the evening. The food and supplies for the dinner were donated by local businesses and community members. It was a free-will donation dinner. The worker auction brought in $6,500 for the TVHS FFA Chapter and $500 for the Kurt Miller Memorial Fund. The week ended with Tractor Drive-In Day and Flannel Friday, a day when students could park tractors out front and everyone was encouraged to wear flannel shirts.
